    Life has never been easy on me

     Life has never been easy on me.
    Thats why I learned its better not to need noone.
    Nobody never did nothing for me.
    I've been working since I was fourteen
    and I never took a ride that was free.
    I always paid my way.
    Sometimes it was with my blood and my tears
    but I never sacrificed my dignity,
    not in all of my years.
    Life has never been easy on me.
    At times all I had, was my pride,
    but I pushed every hand away,
    I refused to take any handouts.
    I found its better this way.
    That way you don't owe nobody a thing.
    So excuse me if I seem bitter,
    but nothing was ever handed to me.
    I've had to fight for my life,
    Because life has bever been easy on me.
