Lie is Central to BeLIEve
My faith in you was shattered
Upon discovery of your deception
I believed we had abundant love
‘Soul mates’ no longer a crazed perception
Until she entered into our lives
A silent, random predator
Sowing confusion with her hypnotic sway
Discovering naïveté in her repertoire
Your heart was torn asunder
Do you rescue the damsel in distress
Convincing yourself you do not notice
The silver claws behind the dress?
Or do you choose instead
To follow the more noble route
Ignoring the manufactured cries
And remaining with the one who’s always loved without a doubt?
You taught me a valuable lesson
Of how the lie is central to believe
She has since shredded your heart
And you will never be allowed a reprieve
