I've missed it
I believe I've missed it
while sewing patches to my heart
a single tulip by the window
if only I hadn't sailed too far out
I thought these birds can fly for miles
scarcely held up during a gravity pull
somebody suffers from these smiles
when they cover up too much soul
slipping by barely noticed by thieves
attached somehow to miserable dust
would this flower stand so tall
in a dead of winter's snowy crust
but I believe I've missed it
too much sound shook light apart
I didn't see this beautiful gift
while sewing patches to my heart
while sewing patches to my heart
a single tulip by the window
if only I hadn't sailed too far out
I thought these birds can fly for miles
scarcely held up during a gravity pull
somebody suffers from these smiles
when they cover up too much soul
slipping by barely noticed by thieves
attached somehow to miserable dust
would this flower stand so tall
in a dead of winter's snowy crust
but I believe I've missed it
too much sound shook light apart
I didn't see this beautiful gift
while sewing patches to my heart
