    Compunction

     I re-lived it
    and then again

    swallowed back
    into a closed chapter
    upon a familiar wall-hanging
    I turn my head to the left
    and there you are
    as real as life
    I am feeling all over again
    better than that day
    more appreciation 

    I hop to the next scene
    clouds are in fast forward
    jerking to a halt
    settling on the root
    the turning point
    the...regretful moment
    sadness floods me
    my foolish pride
    the haunting

    coming out of the tunnel
    I am stripped
    and exposed
    I have seen what I was
    I swell in sorrow
    a tortured soul again

    after a few more times
    I will remove the wall-hanging
    I will clean my windows
    and I will forgive myself
