Just Thinking
Just ThinkingThe chill seeps damply all around
Intensifying pale Apollo's frown.
Cannot the names of martyrs be forgot?
Or is it now for us to wonder what
Becomes of those who fled the world before
The rest of us could knock upon their door?
I in my dissentient soul-of-soul
Care nothing for their rambling control.
We cannot question all we ever see
Yet somehow must discover where the key
Waits to fill the darkness (is it reason?)
With the bursting forth of every season.
I lost you as time melted on and on
So the searching goes (you are not gone!)
Until the star of the eastern way
Is lost to the blossoming light of day...
