As I Waited as a Tree
I stand waiting as a tree
Staring straight at a bee
As I waited as a tree
Something came over me
A sudden feel of excitement and wonder
As I watched the bee fly over and under
I watched it move in and out
I wanted to shout
Come here come here
Speak in my ear
As I waited as a tree
I heard the bee
And he said something quite
Wonderful to me
He said you can be all you want to be
Then just like that I was grass
As I watched a dog pass
I said "Hello there good friend."
And he said, "It's funny the way you bend."
Then the dog said something to me
He said you can be anything you want to be
Then just like that I was a flower
Watching an owl at witching hour
She came and kept me company in the dead of night
She was quite a sight
Then she said to me “wake up time to start the day”
I wake to my mom yelling “UP!” as I lay.
