Tuesday Morning in COS
I sit in my patio chair facing East, enjoying the view and the fresh air
as my young Goodnite exercises before me. In the distance I hear a flicker and a crow - an occasional automobile drives by.
Goodnite bounds in the snow, then stops and rolls in it. She looks at me from her distance, saying, 'I'm having fun.' My hot tea beside me, and gloves, just in case - and this paper and pen. I am as complete as I can be now.
Goodnite has decided to run the front yard and barely misses me as she goes by, getting her exercise under a hazy sun. The air is quiet, but my feet are getting cold as I sit with slippers in the snow near the end of December, in the High Country of Colorado Springs.
