    Poem Commentary

    Teach a child until he is seven and he wil be ours for life

    Have you ever thought?

    Have you ever thought about your beliefs?
    Why you have them?
    Where they came from?
    Are they true?

    Everything you currently believe,
    Everything,
    Has been given to you by others
    Who wished you to believe them.

    From far back in time
    There were those who were charged
    To create those beliefs
    Just   for   You.

    They were not truths,
    But manipulations,
    To get you to behave;
    To get you to believe.

    So today those beliefs
    Are at your very core.
    We call them sacred,
    So they cannot be changed.

    They are carved on the 
    Granite of our minds
    And the sentiments
    Of our hearts

    And   they   are   False!

    But those manipulations
    Of long ago, have 
    For believers,
    Become absolute truth

    Therefore, no further investigation
    Is required.
    No further investigation
    Is   Possible...

    I can relate to this poem on some level....I myself have often questioned the everyday numerously.....nicely done....

    It is far more comfortable to just believe, than ever to question those beliefs. Yet it is the driving force of our lives. Thanks for going through my 'stuff.'
