TIDALWAVE
Wading into calm waters;
The sky grows dark and gray.
Soon natures hold,
on the burdened clouds slips.
Sprinkles soon turn to an onslaught;
beating against the rising tide.
Until it's difficult to tell;
whether the spray hitting my face,
comes from the rising tide;
or the angry heavens above.
Such as life,
the waves soon consume me.
An undertow quickly claims,
my tenuous hold on reality.
Pulling me under,
encasing me within its
torturous lovers arms.
My fight continues,
longing for release.
Soon my lungs burn;
screaming for sweet respite.
I'd give my soul,
for but one life saving breath.
It would appear I'll get my wish;
to abandon my soul.
Without the benefit,
of life's sweet release.
The churning waves,
Holding me;
crushing me;
The battle soon ends.
Lifeless;
weightless;
I surrender.
