The poem is called "Bird's Eye View of St. Louis".
Way atop this building, upon it's structured roof,
I gazed upon St. Louis and garnered all the proof.
With camera held in hand my clicks and clicks will show,
The wonder of this city and it's silvery arch that glows.
From east to west I gazed, at its beauty where I stood,
From north to west I stared, and my curiosity ensued.
This city of great wonders from it's caverns waters spewed,
To add greenery to this fertile land that many often viewed,
Looking over the river at bridges sturdily framed,
Of historical significance that they so proudly named,
Eades, McKinley, Jefferson and Martin Luther King,
A view so picturesquely powerful, to make a stranger sing.
Bustling beneath these bridges, barges clattered, jarred and jammed!
And as tugboats pulled them closer, sounds with clutching pulls and bams!
Landmarks so interesting are showpieces of our age,
That placed us very proudly upon the worldwide stage.
