A Violent EarthQuake!
It was so very refreshing after that buisy summer day, relaxing in my father's cabin,I laid in bed, looked up, the bed shook vigorously, I thought it was a dream I'm having,
The chest of drawers and mirror began to rattle and the drawers flew open,
I pinched myself and realize this is for real, it's nature and it's not joking,
The windows rattled with violence their glass splintered and then a sudden halt,
Then it came to my remembrance, that this was on a seismic fault.
There was a sudden quietness, just a five minute delay,
I heard the neighbors shout and a few seconds after the shaking and rumbling replayed,
The shaking gained momentum, it shook much more violently,
There were shoutings of,"save me Jesus", and cries to the Almighty,
The wall shook, the cabin moved and the rumblings grew bigger,
Then there was a rushing sound that this earthquake had triggered,
I look through the broken windows and saw a gigantic landslide, like nothing I'd seen before,
Of houses toppling from the hillside, shedding all their windows and doors,
Then after this frightening commotion, everything grew still,
I gazed again through the window and no houses were spared on that hill.
All the tremors had ceased and I thanked God for sparing me from that mess,
This was indeed one of life's trials, but I endured this test,
The remnants of my Daddy's cabin was easily repaired,
But of friends and neighbor's I looked in awe and stared,
Accounting for all survivors all the searchers could conclude,
We were fortunate of no lives lost, we're blessed, that news was good!
