The Longing
So many roads I've traveledSo many more to go
In my search for all the answers
To the questions I have known
I have walked the straight and narrow
And the long and winding road
Ever searching for a place
That I can call my own
I have no one here beside me
Though I long for a womans touch
To ease the pain of loneliness
And surround my heart with love
In the stillness of the evening
I can hear her call my name
From across the open valley
Through the highest mountain range
I search for her from dawn til dusk
Never knowing where she may be
Wondering if my longing
Is merely a fantasy
I want to lay beside her
By the coolness of a stream
To touch her on the shoulders
And be her every dream
I'll follow my heart til I find her
Where 'er the seeds of love may roam
Bringing our two hearts together
In a place we can call home
