Night's Dream
I find a spot,Along the beach,
I'm sitting next to you.
I go in the water,
The freezing cold water,
I'm swimming next to you.
I see your girl,
Swimming next to you,
I'm sinking next to you.
I try to get up,
I'm too far down,
Everything goes black.
I can't see anything,
I'm sure I'm dead,
I'm dead next to you.
I feel like a fountain,
Squirting water,
I open my eyes.
All I see is you.
Your hand on my wrist.
My wrist in your hand.
Tears rolling down your cheeks.
Your girl muttering about her hating me.
"Y-Y-Y-You saved my life.... No. I must be dead. This can't be real. You'd never risk your life to save mine." I begin to cry.
"You're wrong. I saved you. I gsve you CPR. I went to the bottom of the lake to save you. Your alive. And I'm glad about that." You calmly whisper in my ear.
"But.... Why?" I cry out.
"Because I love you." You say.
I back away.
"No. I won't believe you. You've never loved me. You never will. You hate me. You said it your self. Just the other day. You said you can't stand me. You said to leave you alone. YOU SAID YOU HATED ME! How am I supposed to believe you when you say you love me?" I cry, beginning to shake.
"I guess it's true." You whimper.
"W-W-What's t-t-t-true?"
"You won't listen. So how can I tell you?" You whisper, looking at your feet.
"I'll listen. J-J-J-Just t-t-t-tell m-m-me."
"You don't love me." You say in a coarse whisper.
"Th-Th-That's all?"I scream. Youturn around and begin to walk away. I grab your shoulder and hopld on tight. You stop.
"Let go of me."
"No, I won't. I won't let you leave without getting an answer."
"To what?" You say glaring at me.
"I-I don't know," I say as I let go. "I really don't know." I repeat, looking down at my feet.
"Goodbye." You turn and walk away slowly.
"I guess I...."
"You what?" You turn to ask.
"I guess I... I..."
"You what?" You say angered with impatience.
"I guess I... I... I guess I loved you."
"Loved?" You say like curious little child, while looking at me like a child how has just stopped crying after havingtheir parents killed. "Didn't you mean love, not loved?"
"I said what I mean. And I mean loved."
"Why 'Loved' and not Love?"
"I used to love you. When you saved me I began to love you even more. But then I found out that you are an un-trustable liar who only believe what his friends tell him." I say as I begin to walk back to my spot on the beach.
"You're wrong. I believed that because you were the one who told me you'd never loved me and you never would." You say. I stop.
"I never said such a thing." I say without turning to look at him.
"You did. If you don't love me, then I guess I have no reason to live." You say, taking out your dagger.
"I-I'm sorry. I do love you. I just want to be hurt. I love you so much I was dying from the inside out. I'm glad you cna return my love." I say, smiling.
"Then I guess there is a reason to live." You say, putting your dagger away. You lean over and whisper "I love you" in my ear and then kiss me.
"That has been long overdue." You say.
"It sure has." I reply.
