Bitter-Sweet
CRASH!!!Someone was tripped.
I don't know who.
My mind goes blank.
Darkness.
That's all I see.
Spawling-
So degrading.
Pale,
Thin,
Bony hand
Held out
Ready to help someone up...
I look around.
I see no one.
Who are you trying to help up?
I notice my books...
They're all across the floor.
Why?
I put my hands down,
By my sides,
Suprised.
Cold,
Hard,
Granite stones,
That's all there is beneath me.
"Oh..."
I say.
"Sorry..."
In a whimper
You reply,
Your mouth
Filled with a bitter taste.
Guilt.
"Sorry?"
"Yes, sorry."
"Sorry is just a word!"
I scream,
Angered.
"A word...
Like that...
Means NOTHING to me!"
Salty tears,
Drip down your face.
Your eyes,
Leaky faucets
With sorrowful, little tears.
I bite back my words
As quickly as I let them out of my mouth.
Maybe quicker.
Biting them back,
Teeth upon lip.
Bitter-Sweet
That's how this feels.
You turn away
And try to run
But trip instead.
CRASH!!!
You've fallen.
Face upon granite.
You scream in pain.
I bite harder.
Bitter-Sweet.
I bite too hard
And blood leaks into my mouth
Slowly.
I crawl over.
You try to stand,
But scream instead.
"I'm sorry..."
My eyes seem to be waterfalls,
The way so many tears escape.
"Sorry's just a word!
It means nothing to me!"
It hurts...
You've used my words
Against me.
DRIP DRIP DRIP
Tears hit the stone.
My tears.
"I didn't mean to...
To hurt you..."
"I know..."
You say in a whisper.
We'll pass again tomorrow.
You're leg in a cast,
My arm in a sling.
But instead of exchanging tears,
We'll exchange smiles.
Bitter to Sweet
Sweet to Bitter
Bitter-Sweet
