Love's Ignorant Companion
Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.
Confucius
A heart that is scared
and broken;
depth in meaning,
love as cured.
Around me love
sings a melody;
that I cannot obtain.
How is
so many find
a true love to share
life and time?
A lonely soul
in travel,
without a peaceful
frame of mind.
Is it fate
that I remain alone,
the path a meandering gait,
costing along this travel;
a journey that never abates.
Is this to be my future,
a love that will never be known?
Wishing for tomorrow,
regretting yesterday
alone within
my splintered heart;
alone within
my tattered thoughts.
Is this my destiny?
A path marred by disillusion-
shadowed by need.
This unfulfilled promise
requires actions I cannot ascertain;
my mind is without the understanding
of true love;
perfected within the embrace
or soul mates.
