In Beauty We Keep
Morning glory,
awakening call
in musical lull;
twittering bird song.
Partake of all its splendor
the new day’s dawning
Don’t ever let it slip away
The sunlight’s beaming,
leave the sleep-
leave behind all dreaming.
Night has abated
into nomadic rest
and all to soon,
to his Heavenly path
he will resume;
take pleasure in this day-
precious gift in ours.
The benefit of this world,
treasure and reflect
into the mirror:
The image revealed
cannot lie.
But can you find the courage
to look yourself in the eye?
Face the painful truth
And heal
The broken and battered
Reality of dreams:
This world in which we keep.
