I WAS LEFT IN SOLITUDE
Suffering in solitude
like a bird with no wings
miserable
unable to fly,
cried alone silently
now looking at your things,
sweet memories,
I still cry
never knew what happened
why unexpectedly you left
without saying goodbye
I remember all your stories
the ones you said to me
your smile bright
as sunshine
as I walked in your bedroom door
your happiness lightened the room
illuminating the dark old home
I always left wanting to hear more
the way you talked to me especially
always knew how to cheer me up
you caressed my head softly
making everything alright
you listened to my dreams
comforted me when I fail
always showing me you cared
oh how much you loved me
but then you went away
me being a child then
I couldn't understand
feeling like a lost angel
grieving in solitude
with broken wings
trapped in a cruel world
confused unable to fly
stayed waiting
hoping you be back
I felt abandoned
asking myself why
you were gone
no one cared
so I held on to your memory
up till this day recalling you
your kindness made me strong
finding the courage in me to fight
without stopping
in what I believe
thank you
is what I have to say
for making me
what I am today
but I still miss you,
grandma
like a bird with no wings
miserable
unable to fly,
cried alone silently
now looking at your things,
sweet memories,
I still cry
never knew what happened
why unexpectedly you left
without saying goodbye
I remember all your stories
the ones you said to me
your smile bright
as sunshine
as I walked in your bedroom door
your happiness lightened the room
illuminating the dark old home
