I Am Not Alone
I am not alone when I cry
For orphan children in the street
Or when I feel sad and powerless
To help a child with bare feet.
I am not alone when I protect
A kid from physical abuse
Or from any type of neglect
Even when it's just verbal abuse.
I am not alone when I advise
The battered women to run away,
Love themselves for being wise
And strong for their kids.
I am not alone as once I felt
When I was spanked for being bad,
When words hurt more than a beating
And no one really cared.
