    Poem Commentary

    this is a true poem i wrote. it is for my friend trent who just lost his mother to cancer last friday. i know this is what he would write. i feel for this subject very much. you will be forever in my heart trent . i hope you all enjoy this poem.

    I miss you

    I Miss You

     

    I miss you

    and love you

    with all my heart

    I thought you loved me too

    but I guess not

    you gave up on me

    you gave up on yourself

    I already lost

    a grandfather

    a father

    a grandmother

    an uncle

    and now

    a mother

    the day you died

    I asked to be alone

    and that is what

    everyone did

    I listened to

    all the music

    you liked

    now I

    cry all day

    cry all night

    over you

    I just want to say

    something

    I really love you

    and appreciate

    all you did for me

    you were a great mom

    you may not know it

    but you did

    everything right as a parent

    even though I am only fourteen

    I know I love you forever

    and I will do what you expect of me

    to be strong for you and myself

    I miss you

    what a beautiful yet sad write I am in tears and losing loved ones to cancer is horrendous . I had my own battle with skin cancer at the age of 15 and while it was not the type to be life threatening the feelings that comes with that dreaded word you have :"cancer" well it's hard to express the feelings exactly . I ll be keeping Trent up in my thoughts and prayers that he will someday feel a measure of peace however little it may be

    Oh my God, I think I'm gonna cry. This is just about the most beautiful poem I've ever read. So loving and so touching, sweetheart. This really moved me...and I rarely say that of a poem.

    I really enjoyed this poem. I lost my aunt at the age of seven to cancer and to this day I still feel the pain. Tell your friend I'm sorry for his loss. Watching my cousins change from boys to successful men after the death of their mother really touched me and I know his mother would be very proud of her son. Great poem.
