His Grace
As she walked to the door her heart skipped a beat
She wanted to enter, or should she retreat?
It seemed like a "lifetime" since she had been here
Would she be accepted, that was her great fear
She heard lovely voices, come from inside
It was so familiar, she wanted to hide
How could she come back, after so long
The things she had done, that were so wrong
Yet she felt compelled to enter the door
Some faces she knew, she looked at the floor
Then suddenly there, in front of her face
Were people surrounding her, showing her GRACE
She didn't deserve it, that she knew well
In her darkest moments, her thoughts were of hell
But that went away, she was swept up inside
A cloud of such glory, that she couldn't hide
She fell to her knees and prayed so sincere
Oh God, please forgive me, To You draw me near
A warmth she had known, came over her there
Her burden was lifted, she hadn't a care
For it isn't deeds, we do, good or bad
That makes us God's Children, so we can be glad
His mercy endures, regardless the crime
His love seeks us out, time after time
She walked out that door, a spring in her step
Circumstance hadn't changed, yet now her heart lept
She looked toward the sky, and thanked God that He
Saw this one lost soul, now she was set free
Justice we think, is what we should feel
But Mercy is given, God's Promises real!
For no one is perfect, we've all been there, too
But Grace is for all, for me and for you
