Crevices of the Mind
This journey is best taken alone
Once entered you can never go home
A trip through crevices of the mind
Overwhelmed by vapors of turpentine
Between the fissures wickedness prowls
Secretive men hidden by their white cowls
Crawling from the blood and the grunge
Dropped into rotting swamps they plunge
Smashed bones and torn flesh at inner cracks
Images of Bundy and Dahmer attacks
Leak from orifice of darkened soul
Coagulants in rancid red river flow
Pictures reflecting the walking dead
Fiendish, vile creatures need to be fed
Insomnia sets from things you may find
The inhuman acts made by mankind
A deranged man caught in desire
A daughter snuffed in a bedroom fire
A trial defense blamed crystal meth
An abused mother choked to death
A swinging young boy from a knotted noose
A soldier betrayed by a broken truce
A son fallen into a drug addiction
A stoning of an adulterous woman
Clumped together in brain’s cyanide soup
Through skull sutures seep a toxic ooze
Layers of soiled rags, an endless pile
Come on in. Won’t you stay awhile?
