The Day the Towers Fell
The sun rose on a Tuesday morn
A day turned to panic and fright
Our universe turned upside down
Some parents didn’t come home that night
Roaring jets, ashes and smoke
People jumping to their deaths
It could have been you or me
Who had taken a final breath
Metal groaning, floors collapsing
Horror filled unending hours
Hopes and dreams a smoldering
In a heap burning our two towers
Al-Qaeda wanted our soil bloodied
We did not know a war was under way
Again they woke a sleeping giant
A hornet’s nest got stirred that day
