AMEN
AMEN
Now I lay me down to sleep
my eyes are open wide
Patiently I wait for dreams
but first I must confide
I pray for all before I lay
the child left alone
The muffled cry from a mother
who scrapes to keep her home
I pray for all who have to die
to keep our country free
I pray for those who die in vain
when wars don't have to be
The alcoholic without hope
the addict lacking faith
I pray they somehow find you Lord
they need a place that's safe
I pray for man who holds to rage
the strength to find himself
I pray the woman finds esteem
to reach for any help
I pray the rich share their wealth
to live among the poor
the only difference between the two
The rich were blessed with more
Please put the blood of Jesus
on children everywhere
Open up more people's eyes
who feel they need not care
Most of all Dear Jesus
first help us see ourselves
Not judge a soul to make us whole
Dear Lord we all need help
I'll leave this prayer in your hands
on you we must depend
Surrender things we cannot bear
in Jesus' Name AMEN
