A Ghost
I dreamed I saw the spirit
Of someone I never knew.
I did not dare go near it,
It seemed frightened of me, too.
I sat in sheer amazement,
As it floated near my bed.
I felt sadly complacent,
Hello was all I said.
It then turned and looked at me,
My heart skipped a beat.
This ghostly figure sat right down,
Several inches from my feet.
Our eyes were locked in silent stare,
It was like a scary movie scene.
I suddenly blinked and it was no longer there,
Then I realized it wasn't a dream.
What was the meaning of this spectral visit,
This encounter with a supernatural host?
To what do I owe the purported honor,
Of a visit from a Ghost?
