    Falling Moon

    Where God created first woman and man,
    A spiritual maternity ward.
    Salish flume, cultish swoon,
    Heaven and earth, umbilical cord.
    Incandescent free fall fiord,
    Native American's sacred accord.
    Gathered strength through powerful flow,
    Transformed prayers in pools below.
    Oracled legends of earth and moon.
    Natural wonder, tourist boom.

    Waterfall of series fame,
    Often scenes week to week.
    Nocturnal mist, blinding spray,
    Diverted power toward twin peak.
    Elevated famous lodge and spa,
    Revelations of Snoqualmie Falls.

    Having been to the Falls this morning, I can feel the spray on my face still and your words echo the breathtaking majesty of Snoqualmie Falls. "Gathered strength through powerful flow..." oh my Kevin, how beautiful and moving your work is. Greetings from the Salish Sea!

    Snoqualmie Falls is a wonder! Your tribute to it mixes modern impressions with ancient reverence with a deft, almost liquid touch. Well done.

    This is an awesome poem! With the image you posted, and the first couple lines, made me think of a Twain short story of Adam and Eve. As I read through your lines I can hear the powerful falls ring in my mind.
