The secret
There is a wife today
busy with the daily chores:
folding linen,
packing lunches,
choosing the home décor.
There is a husband overseas
lying by his mistress
while his soul finds no rest.
Money spills from his wallet.
His unsuspecting wife is proud of his crowns
She doesn’t know
How lost is his soul.
The love they shared he has traded
for the logo of his corporation,
profit his solo motivation.
Monetary kingdom, bribery and lies.
Betrayed sanctum,
smiles that soon will dissipate.
Every step, a misguide.
There is a wife today
Whose tears will wash the face
melting into an ocean of pain,
children to be disposed of
the world they have known.
There is a husband
who lost his soul.
Will he ever find his way home?
