Rescue
I’ll take flight.
Walled sunless days left behind.
Flight into frameless blue skies.
Muted the wheels of the system.
Forgotten their worthless sounds.
Just
Flocks of birds over my head.
Their serenade my wake up call.
Beyond it all.
Life flowing fresh.
Flesh, spirit and desire.
Daring to go,
To slow, to pursue.
Constellations descending,
The liquid drip of the hours
Chanting, dancing, whispering.
I’ll take flight-
Fireflies as my companion-
light and movement without end.
Never looking behind:
Growing wings,
Facing anguish in the eyes and at once
Saying good bye.
