The Poet and the Junkie
Wafer thin, sunken eyes
Theft from family, living on lies
Intravenously fed next meal
Scored from the last cocaine deal
Existing off the fallen wagon
Ever chasing never-caught dragon
Circled windows to the soul
Next high being the goal
Arms riddled with collapsed veins
Chemical conscious ever reigns
Gap between poet and junkie is fine
Both struggling for the next line
High and low needs to be felt
To get some experience under the belt
Theft from family, living on lies
Intravenously fed next meal
Scored from the last cocaine deal
Existing off the fallen wagon
Ever chasing never-caught dragon
Circled windows to the soul
Next high being the goal
Arms riddled with collapsed veins
Chemical conscious ever reigns
Gap between poet and junkie is fine
Both struggling for the next line
High and low needs to be felt
To get some experience under the belt
