    Poem Commentary

    I wonder how many other people spend endless hours in front of the computer without anything to show for the time. I know I spend way too much time with nothing to show but lost life I will never be able to reclaim back.

    Hate and desire

    Afar I hear your beautiful humming

    Beating as addictions drumming

    Your light lights up the other room

    Breaking through the darkened gloom.

     

    I love you with all my heart

    But I hate you enough to tear you apart

    You allow me to be anything I desire

    Sparking any chosen desire.

     

    My addiction to you is tantamount

    To binary numbers in endless count

    No more than an artificial life

    Making love to you more than a wife

     

    Life more active before we connected

    Now my time is idly infected

    You are my hated most loved pet

    Of course I’m talking about the internet

    It's really a black hole for time, and i loved the way that you related it to a woman. The relationship at the beginning makes the reader think of a lover, then a wife, then a mistress, so that when you reveal it is the internet is is the hook, line and sinker so to speak.
