Helter-Skelter
I took the helter-skelter up to the sky
Through a carpet of Pastry’d blueberry pie
From the ground - rain of silver fell
Lone cow walked past around its neck a bell
Featherless bird flew beneath my feet
Spanish galleons glided past in fleet
Continuing to rise passing the skies
Hearing the buzz of buttercup flies
Hitting a deep dark brown lake
Rising up through the chocolate flake
Looking back down afraid to drown
In this dark-chocolate’d lake gown
Rose for air passed a Welsh Cob mare
All but could was glide past and stare
Unable to stop this journey of mine
Flying up through the passage of time
Somewhere distant the sound of flute
Minstrels jammed upon their lute
A juggler juggled a rabbit’s head
Winking at me still not dead
In my disgust juggler upon it fed.
Close by sound of wedding bells
Intoxicating maple syrup smells
Where would this journey ever end?
Mind of mine open for me to send
Expanded universe gone around the bend
Back to earth in sudden cloudburst
Waking up with a thirst
Lying back down on the floor
Deciding that I want a whole lot more
Once again before I die
I want to ride that helter-skelter to the sky
