The New Moon
This night, there will be a new moon,
Anxiously I await, throughout the afternoon
For this evening when the sunlight dies,
Your spotlight will shine bright in the midnight sky
More beautiful by the moonlight you are, I surmise,
Moonbeams shine down and swim within your eyes
As you dance beneath the starry night,
Waxing and waning as your words you recite
From this distance I can hear you in waves,
But my wish, is to look upon your face,
And it is the feel of your touch in which I crave
For it is the distance which leaves me feeling dismayed
But on the night of this new moon,
In the sky I will seek Visions of you
So tonight when you peer to the heavens above,
Embrace the moon in which I speak of
And I will be staring as well, waiting on you,
This night your spotlight awaits your debut
And in that moment we transcend space and time,
Together we’ll melt, it will be sublime
