Summer Love
I fell for him in summermy mystery in love
The boy who stole my heart
our love as fleeting as a dove.
He hid himself away
truth veiled behind his eyes
While telling empty promises
and broken shattered lies.
He led me out of reason
and into his embrace
Of cold and lifeless arms
with our fingers interlaced.
And then he left
without telling me goode-bye
And the truth came crashing down
like the heat of mid-July.
Of course it does no good
to dwell on broken dreams
So we move along in life
all the while,
Ripping at the seams.
