Dance of the Seasons
Lady Summer and
Winter prince,
dancing together
ever since,
The dawn of time
of seasons too,
of lazy heat
and weather cool.
Seasons change places
in time with them,
to and fro
and back again,
She blond and bright
with smile warm,
he with hair of white
and a ruling arm.
And so its been
and so shall stay
to balance
freezing nights and sunny days.
For if this dance
should suffer plight
we would be plunged
into eternal night.
