ROSES FOR YOU
ROSES FOR YOU
What have I done to send you away, As days turned to weeks so slowly it seemed, I walk through our garden under skies so blue, I whisper your name remembering days gone by, My heart is so empty as I look around, We walked in the garden and laughed our way through, Strolling then pausing to pick a red rose, I’ll take them to town and wrap them in blue.
And what could I do to convince you to stay?
I think only of you and our pushed aside dreams.
Tears run down my cheeks as I yearn for you.
I fall to my knees covering my face as I cry.
I imagine your arms-lift me up from the ground.
I gather up roses in arms meant for you,
My heart is so wishing that you were still close.
I am sending these roses my darling to you.
