LONELY OLD MAN
Lonely old man sitting in his favorite old chair,
Remembering how his wife use to brush her hair. Thinking back on his happier days, Smiling in remembrance of her old fashioned ways. Remembering the walks and picnics in the park, Laughing and cuddling till way after dark. Growing elderly together was the best part of his life, He’s all alone now and misses his wife. All of their children are now on their own, He stares at their photos feeling very alone. Flipping through photos as he tried not to cry, Remembering their love still filled him with pride. They were together for over fifty years, Missing her so brings a flood of tears. Dreading the time that day turns to night, Wanting to go to her with all of his might. Take me home Jesus if only you would, I want to be with her if only I could. He goes to sleep slowly in that broken down chair, With a smile on his lips he's softly stroking her hair.
