AFTERNOON PLAY
AFTERNOON PLAY
February 4, 2006
He jumped upon his tricycle and began to pedal hard,
"Giddy-up little pony", as he rode across the yard.
Watching from the window, as he let out a delighted squeal,
Mamma laughed as his puppy followed closely at his heels.
Little cowboy climbed down from his pony, hiding behind a tree,
Pretending to hold up binoculars to see what he could see.
Picking up a stick and using it for a pretend gun,
Crawling on his belly squinting in the sun,
Creeping ever closer he hides behind a rock,
Tired of this game, puppy starts pulling on his sock.
"Giddy-up little pony," back on the trail again,
Following at his heels was his spotted puppy friend.
Jumping from his pony, hiding behind the water tank,
He shoots those mean ol’ robbers as they run out of the bank.
Afternoon play is over, as the sun begins to sink,
Little cowboy heads for the house to get his puppy friend a drink.
