"Reality"
Reality
Reality bites, so you’ve heard before, quite dramatically
So I’m caught devising a plan, hashing out a strategy
It’s problematic holding out on this panic pragmatically
I never knew it was automatic to fall back into insanity
I struggle to straddle the line of this apparatus called humanity
So as a mechanism of escape is needed quite drastically
A fantastic thing! I’ll live vicariously through my fantasies
I latch on to imagined things nothing short of franticly
What do I stand to gain, sweating the small so gigantically?
As all of these antics reach the walls so they have to breach
I fall, stumble fall, and roll into a ball of stigmatic feats
In awe of factual speech I caw at the natural peace…
That they say lies in the hearts of all but I haven’t reached
I yaw from the path as they hem and haw under cracks in speech
The world is a lie and matter of factually its all coming back to me
I’m inactive on your vision screens comatose among living things
But my mind’s eye is focusing on imagination hinging vividly…
on what I’d like it to be if it all on earth were up to me…
Then I hasten there abruptly
Hustling and bustling, I shape it well and make it trusty
My alternate reality, makes your planet seem equal with disgusting…
Parallel with disturbing, on par with what’s disrupting…
the natural balance of utopia, getting closer to erupting…
your ideals were not ideal so I decided that I must leave.
These are just the tricks of my trade, so I’m asking now…
”what sleeve?”
I never needed the sympathy, people telling me…
“just breathe”
Delusional, illusions flow, cracking pots I must be,
crazy to build this escape pod, you see my hands filled with nothing
but as I hammer air, and tell my assistant… “put it there”
I must be on to something
Now it’s completed I step into my craft, 3..2..1.. counting down to jettison
Then a knock at the door delaying me more, a voice says…
“Mr. Peterson…it’s time for your medicine.”
Does that make me crazy?
