"A Heartfelt Debate"
A Heartfelt Debate
Head
What it is, is not always what it seems that we gather
With just dreams we conceive that the means really matter
We bring with meaning the esteem of a whimsical standard
When solid schemes are demeaned and regimes just plaster
What it means is the things we deem clean cling to disaster
Let us seek refuge from the deluge of matters closing this chapter
Heart
Host my thoughts and take liberties with my opinions freely
Why should I tell a lie, if I die would you grieve it really?
Seems to be the best course of action to congeal this treaty
Sign, seal, and deliver my process as I kneel beneath thee
Humbled, because I don’t understand your deal completely
The gift of gab I wish I had and that you would bequeath me
Or is it my take that’s taken lightly though my tree’s green and leafy?
Head
See it’s hard to confirm who’s right or wrong in this claim
Somehow the brain waves came unhinged and unchained
Make no headway away from the mainstays that we melee
Managed to get my self bird free and away from restraints
Yet can’t resist the urge to fight off what makes these straights
It may be as simple as…I can’t relate to your view but can take...
Another look at strolls through your shoes and the claims staked
Heart
At the same rate my search races behind your eyes through your face
Just to think your knowledge belittles me and now I envy your place
Before great…is just good and that’s the issue that brings forth strife
This debate takes place and runs its course about every other fortnight
But one thing remains before I slow my tempo and you shutter the light
Agree or disagree, that only in death, we’ll know the true meaning of life
