Illegitimate Child
My Illegitimate Child
There are some who might say:
“You are not legitimate and
why should I care?
What value is added,
from one who has nothing
of value to share?
But, I beg each day that til
my own end of days
that you remain with me forever.
Don’t leave me
with this otherwise
desolate life, devoid of all meaning
filled with pretenses.
I will defend your existence
and value your worth.
I pray to guide you and protect you
for as long as I can
and plea for God’s graces
that are undeniable by any man.
For all of life is legitimate
as a creation of God and
If I am the vessel
that is called to nurture you,
then I humbly accept the challenge
to do what I must do.
You give me purpose and without you
I would fade…..
into some obscure existence
AND SO I pray: “Do not leave me;
Do not leave me alone.”
Selah. You remain. My illegitimate child,
Poetry.
