Fortunate Circumstance
Fortunate CircumstanceNo two are combined because they are well enough alone
Summer's gone and a chill bites the air.
Too fast it is coming, and I saw "It's not fair."
That no one comes to warm me in my lair.
Where are you? Are you out there?
No two are combined because they are well enough alone
The reaching has begun
Who to spend thanksgiving with?
Whose stocking will be hung
By the fireplace crackling empty
Void of noels that should be sung.
No two are combined because they are well enough alone
So who is it to come into my life
His glory to be shown?
The prayers all prayed, and still I do not know
If I am to find strength for a partner
Or for being alone.
No two are combined because they are well enough alone
But without privy to the master plan
One can never know
If two shall twine to be as one
Or, I am ever to be alone.
