From the Dream We Soon Shall Awake
On the edge
center of time and eternity
feeling
your heart pounding,
knowing your thoughts
seeing you
in your dreams
seeking me
On the edge
center of time and eternity
feeling
my heart pounding,
knowing my thoughts
seeing me
in my dreams
seeking you
both
of us
longing
for
the present
to
be over
hands
lips
no longer
seeking
but
holding
touching
joy
ripping
the smoke
of others
fading plans
drifting away
from us
laughter melting
encasing ice
that sheltered
our growing hearts
from damage
as
the separation
finally ends
I
smell
taste
feel
your
heat growing
I
await
becoming
the ultimate hardness
you desire
to melt around
we both
leave
the pasts
behind
like
so much dust
I drop
my softness
to be
your hardness
you drop
your hardness
to be
the softness
that envelopes
me completely
like salmon spawning
or swans
no other
is there
for us
but us
fingers intertwined
we approach
the center
recognizing
home
is when
we are
one
we laugh
together
with
the same heart
ringing
ripping
the silence
away
forever
On the edge
center of time and eternity
feeling
our hearts pounding,
knowing our thoughts
seeing us
in our dreams
seeking us
till we awaken
in each others arms again
