Poem Commentary
Every summer with family and friends I head three hours north to Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley, to where one of my friend’s family owns 1300 acres of private wilderness. I am the early-riser only to beat the intense 105F heat to hike to the top of the valley’s rim in the cool air of dawn only to ascend to the lake as the sun begins to flare. This piece reflects the many years I have hiked the trails alone but not lonely, to reach the lake and to canoe for an hour before going back to the cabin and having breakfast with the people I enjoy. This piece is from my second book due in late-spring/early summer 2011 from Stillpoint Press (title withheld until publication).©dahlusion

- The web of nature is truly beautiful, and you have interwoven yourself into that web body, heart, and soul. Another masterpiece from a true master. It is so vivid and real and descriptive, that I feel a part of it all too. Bravo again my friend, Bravo.
