    Poem Commentary

    Whenever I am in need of spiritual comfort and direction I turn to Walt Whitman’s “Leaves Of Grass”, for there is no book that centers me, calms me, and gives me spiritual bearing like this collection of truths, triumphs, and defeats. Where the Bible is a book of fantasies, mythology, and disturbing contradictions, “Leaves Of Grass” is a reality to hold in your heart and soul, to comprehend with out having to be interpreted by anybody but yourself. “Leaves Of Grass” should be nominated to replace the Bible as the book of honorable truths and proper spiritual development. Whitman was The Second Coming.

    Walt Whitman was and is one of the greatest writers that ever existed. Leaves of Grass is a Book I also turn to when I need an escape or some guidance. Great Write and thoughts. -sk8

    hey dah i am so sorry for not getting a chance to read ur poem but i did so recently read it an to tell u i am very intregged by it it is very inlighting an i am truely and honestly inpressed of what i read you are an amazing poet you have an amazing talent i was so asstounded in what i read i am sorry for my misspelling an i am sorry for being late on reading dis wonderful poem

    this is quite the write - here is where I have to admit that I am altogether unfamiliar with the poetry of Mr. Whitman, so will make no pretense at making an informed comment! however - I think he'd have to be honored Dahl - XX Tender
