untitled

I never thought that there would ever not be a me and, you know, "us"...
I'd forgotten how everything you taste can taste like dust...
I planned to be there forever, for better or worse
I sure didn't expect to end up feeling cursed
Consumed with self-doubt and so God awful WORN OUT
So in spite of loving you in ways I can't understand
I can't see any choice but to let go of your hand
Yah, I'm scared of what letting go means now
And yah, I can't even pretend that I really know how
But you've called the dance, I'm just following your lead
How could you tell me you loved me and just sit there watching my heart bleed?

Just to allay any doubts Son, this piece came out of the whole Texas experiment, though I can see now where it has a more general application... I Love You Too My Boy, more than you know! Dad

A place we've all been and you've shared it so vividly. Thank you.
