THIS TOO SHALL PASS
There's a hole in my heart where you used to reside. A vast, empty cavern, echoing silent sobs. A place where dreams die and nightmares take on a ghoulish life, destroying all the parts of me that once were whole. Its emptiness consumes me, and every breath I take is torture. There's no room there for hope... and there's nothing left for you to take away.
There's a hole in my heart where you used to reside, and even the pain of missing you cannot fill it. It's an open, unhealing wound, and the salt of my tears keeps the agony fresh. I gave you all I had... and my soul is so tired it's as lifeless as a corpse.
There's a hole in my heart where you used to reside, but I know, in time, it will heal. This pain will not last. There will come a time when the memories of what we shared together no longer feel like daggers piercing my already wounded heart. I will not regret our failed attempts at happiness, nor will I resent you for what you took from me. I gave it willingly enough... and anyway, it always belonged to you.
There's a hole in my heart where you used to reside... and even though you're gone, I can always find you there.
