Shattered Heart
So many dreams I've built around you, only to have them broken by the slamming door.
Each time you leave you take a piece of my heart, and so much more.
I let my ears deceive me, but my eyes could see the truth.
You were my everything, but I meant nothing to you.
Somewhere deep inside my broken heart, I knew your words were lies,
Yet I couldn't find the strength in me to tell you goodbye.
Without you I have nothing, each day is like the one before.
With every passing minute, I miss you a little more.
The tears that soak my pillow are enough to fill a sea.
I've finally begun to realize you're not coming back to me.
I'm slowly learning to let you go with no resistance,
But if you would only call, I'd take you back in an instant.
