This Small Field
Faces blow awayand then they're gone
another day
of bitterness
resides
inside the marrow
of my bones
beneath my skin
of many layers
getting dim
in this small field
I call my home
restricted welcome
Enter slowly
and you're trapped
between the lines
of many rows
of seeds you've planted
in despair.
I know your secret
and I'm dying
in this way
I hope you'll find
a little tenderness
within
a hurting soul.
