The Price
Looking in a magnifying glassYou spoke to me
I said
Just kiss my ass-
DON'T YOU KNOW THAT I CAN STOP THE TRAFFIC!?
But I didn't say that.
'Cause then you'd know
I'm arrogant
And I have rights, you know.
A right to rob
And steal, or
Join the mob
And wear high heels
And I'll strike you with them too.
Just you can watch me
Yes, I do.
And I stay silent for a while.
Cops and robbers
It is vile
To be that way
'Cause I can't pay
The way
That others do.
I lost when I was with
Your hands around my neck
When they did take me in-
And pregnant too.
They made me eat cold pancakes
With a spoon.
I didn't do
The things that
I was told to do
And paid the price
With beauty
'Cause I didn't have
The money.
Raising children is a cost
And doing some things is a must
Only then there is no soul inside
Feeling what I've done to lie
To everyone
Including me.
