The Escape
Drying up the riverMeans to me
So many birds
So big the sea.
Engulfing now with what it must
I see the river's edge
A rusted nail.
It pierced a tire, though but
Not so many years ago
It rained so many days, you see, and
Knowing it was all in me
To use
Like a forgotten rag.
Tossed aside
I do not lag
For I am used to running
And I'll take to lots of fun
That I have missed
So long
Along the way
But you have gotten none today.
Eating all what's on display
And I'll be gone
And nowhere too
A place where you're not welcome too
And you're
Alone.
