The Plight Of The Purple Dragon
The purple dragon sits upside down on the table,
Glassy blue eyes staring at an upside down world.
His tether hangs across his upside down face,
Not connected to anything.
He could fly if he wanted,
But the Dali world has him confused.
The sky is down and the ground is up,
How did this happen?
When did things get topsy turvy?
Did he drink too much dragonfruit juice last night?
Or did he chase another dragon?
One that bested him and left him in this precarious position.
Slowly the glassy blue eyes scan the upside down world.
Looking for a way to right it.
He must fly or death will claim him.
A stranger comes along and sees the befuddled creature,
He feels sorry for it somehow.
A dragon should not be upside down,
Never upside down.
The stranger reaches gently for the frightened dragon,
The glassy blue eyes fix him with an uneasy stare,
A giant has come and death cannot be far behind.
Fingers close carefully upon the dragon's body,
The glassy blue eyes close in anticipation of pain.
A sudden movement, the hands withdraw,
Te glassy blue eyes open slowly.
The world is right again!
The dragon takes wing!
